Patricia Messick


Thanks for checking out Messick Properties Group, Inc.!  We’ve been around since 1989 and pretty much do EVERYTHING in real estate – sales, leasing, property management, owners association management, auctions, real estate accounting and more.

While I am from Florida, my Messick relatives settled in the Piedmont area of North Carolina in the late 1700s, and there are a lot of us around here, known mainly for our businesses – grocery store chains, commercial developments, stone masonry and real estate.

My career began in Florida with several years at Walt Disney World Company in their finance and marketing divisions, with my final job with them as media buyer.  Work with advertising agency Gilpin, Peyton & Pierce followed, then came the big move to Winston-Salem.  After a few years in marketing at Wachovia Bank, I began working in real estate and served as vice president of Diversified Realty & Investments, focusing on commercial development, through 1989.

In addition to founding and growing Messick Properties Group, Inc., I serve or have served in the following positions:

  • Real estate teacher at Forsyth Technical Community College, 1991-1993 then again in 1997.
  • Board of Directors 2005 to present of the Northwest North Carolina Better Business Bureau
  • Board of Directors 2007 to present of the Property Management Division of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors
  • Board of Directions 2014 to present of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors
  • President, 2014, Property Management Division of the Winston-Salem Regional Association of Realtors; vice president 2012-2013.

Additionally, I was honored in 2012 with the 2012 Property Manager of the Year Award!

When not working, I enjoy Carolina shag dancing, ventures with the Winston-Salem Ski & Outing club, riding my bicycle, riding my motorcycle and playing with my dogs Billie Jill and Oliver!

I joined Messick Properties Group in December of 2013 and am considered the “new kid on the block”.  I started out as Pat Messick’s Executive Administrative Assistant but, Pat saw something in me that made her feel confident enough to offer me a new position with much more responsibility within a couple of months.  I am now currently the HOA Accounts Manager and an Assistant Property Manager.  I handle dues collection, bill payments, work requests and more for our owners associations, and can assist you with any questions or concerns you might have concerning your dues and the association you live in.  I will go above and beyond to get you the help you need and, if I can’t help, I can get you to the right person.

I just recently relocated to the Winston-Salem area with my husband, from Virginia Beach.   Having been a flight attendant for 15 years and then transitioning to the manager of 140 flight attendants, I needed to find something that would keep me on my toes, help me learn my way around the area and still give me the satisfaction of connecting with people on a one-on-one basis, which is what I am passionate about.  What better way to do that than to work for Messick Properties Group, Inc. where we work all over the Winston-Salem area and the surrounding cities and counties, plus we pride ourselves on giving that personal touch that in this technological world everyone is still looking for.  Having had a background in commercial real estate in San Diego, CA (where I’m from), I felt that this company would be a great fit for me since it was something that I was familiar with.

When I’m not at work, you can find me at home with my husband, a 4 year old and an 8 year old, and a gigantic Akita puppy named Loki.  We spend our time trying to think up imaginative things to do to keep little girls busy on a constant basis.  I am a true California girl who loves the sun, water and being outside so we spend a lot of our time hiking, playing in the pool and enjoying festivals, outdoor concerts and being together.

I would like to be remembered as an out-going person with a big personality!


Zachary Lancaster

Zach joined Messick Properties in 2012, upon return from his deployment to the Middle East with the Marine Reserves.  He’s been a Marine since 1998, has served multiple tours of duty overseas and received multiple military decorations.

A graduate of Bishop McGuinness High School here in Winston-Salem, Zach has attended UNC-Charlotte, Forsyth Technical Community College, University of Notre Dame and Villanova University.  He holds master’s certificates in conflict negotiations, business administration, leadership and management, and applied project management.

Zach is a licensed provisional real estate broker and notary public.  Previously, he held a mortgage broker license and has worked in the lending industry.

An avid runner, Zach sets the standards for physical fitness, and is the livewire of our group — our man about town and in the know!
